Bike Safety Carnival 2026

What a fantastic day at the 3rd Annual Bike Safety Carnival!

More than 100 people joined us for a fun-filled morning celebrating bike safety and community. We gave out 73 free bicycle helmets. It was wonderful to see so many helmets properly fitted on so many heads, helping riders stay safe while enjoying their bikes.

This event would not have been possible without the generous financial support of Kiwanis Club of Forest Park, Play It Again Sports, and Cardinal Advancement Services, as well as the staff support and event space provided by the Park District of Forest Park.

A huge thank you goes to Ride Illinois, whose bicycle safety course was so popular that it had a line throughout the entire event. We are also incredibly grateful to Bruce from the Park District, who spent the morning pumping tires, fitting riders to their bicycles, and helping families get ready to ride safely. Play-it Again Sports, Illinois Prairie Path and Tour de Proviso shared valuable information about local trails and places to ride throughout the area. Thank to our volunteers Amy Binns-Calvey and our volunteers from the Traffic and Safety Commission Kathleen Gerrans, and Rich Lieb.

The bike decorating station was packed all morning, with kids adding reflective tape to their bicycles, designing personalized license plates, and decorating their brand-new helmets with stickers.

Thank you to all of our community volunteers, sponsors, partners, and attendees who helped make the 3rd Annual Bike Safety Carnival such a success. We look forward to seeing everyone again next year!
